Each club must have a President, Captain and Treasurer in order to be affiliated with the Students' Union.
The Sports President is responsible for overseeing all areas of running the team, being a signatory for the budget and acting as the first representative to all external bodies. Handling finances, seeking sponsorship if desired and keeping a spreadsheet for your teams budget is required. You will delegates tasks to other members, acts as a chair at all meetings and ensures at all times the health and safety of members. You will be responsible for liaising with committee members and the SU.
The Sports Captain motivates the team, ensuring all members are engaged with the club and organising fixtures for the team as well as the travel required for such fixtures.The role requires you to lead the team at every match-day & training, liaise with opposing captains and deal with internal communication to club members. The Sports Captain will, if applicable, liaise with team coaches on a regular basis and communicate quickly and efficiently with the SU.
The Sports Treasurer is responsible for all of the sports team's money and is a signatory for the sports team budget. The role requires you to collect all monies received from sports activities, and ensure that they are paid into the sport account with the relevant documentation. As well as ensuring that any funding applications are completed and handed in to the Activities team at the right time. The Treasurer ensures all necessary expenditure is paid and keeps a record of all financial transactions.
