LUSL

LUSL 2018-19

LUSL is a student-led recreational league, therefore clubs who wish to participate in LUSL must take on the required responsibilities involved. Although LUSL is a less competitive league than BUCS, we still expect each club involved to follow the rules of the games and league and represent Goldsmiths to the best of their ability.

Clubs who will be taking part in LUSL will need to abide by the following:

Match Administration

Captains contact details will be added to BUCScore and you will be given admin rights on the BUCS website. Captains/committee members will be responsible for all match administration - confirming games with opposition captains, confirming referees (for home matches ONLY), organising rearrangements, updating scores etc.

Transport

As LUSL matches are within London/M25 area, the SU will not be supplying transport or reimbursements to students for travel to or from LUSL matches. We advise if you have any members on your team/coaches/instructors who are eligible for the MIDAS test (over 21, full clean driving licence for 2+ years) they book onto one of the free course to drive the minibus. The course involves 1 full day theory and 1 half day practical test. To book a place complete the form below.

Rules and Regulations

LUSL operates in the same way as BUCS regarding the rules and regulation of the specific sport. All committee members are responsible for ensuring they are up-to-date on this prior to the start of the season. Amendments are always made each summer so even if you are aware of the particulars, please still look through and see what changes have been made.

Student Union Support

The student union will allocate all clubs participating in LUSL with a training slot for the year and will have pre-booked a venue for all you home matches. You MUST inform the SU at least 5 days in advance if you have re-arranged a fixture that is not on your original fixture list at the start of the season. Failure to do so will result in you either not having a venue to play that re-arranged game or having to find a new venue yourselves. In such instances you must inform the SU with the cost of the venue before you book it so we are aware of the cost.

Where possible the SU will give you a list of qualified referees or umpires to officiate your fixture. If you are having issues finding officials please contact the SU at least 5 days before your fixture.

In cases where you feel a match was not fulfilled as per the rules and regulations, the SU will provide support in making an appeal to the opposing university. Please ensure you have read the appeals procedures carefully and followed the required steps required before you make an appeal request.
